The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Brazilian Minas (3-1) in Buenos Aires on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Argentinian Boca Juniors (2-1) 92-77. Boca Juniors outrebounded Minas 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Boca Juniors looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Minas' players. It was a great evening for Agustin Barreiro (205-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Francisco Caffaro (216-2000, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Uruguayan point guard Lucas Rodriguez (185-2007) with 22 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was an exceptional evening for center Lucas Dias (207-1995) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Cristiano Felicio accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds. Vivo/Franca's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest.
